Charged with vibrant colors and unique patterns, the Peruvian brand Escudo has found a way to unite heritage and folklore with the fashion world. The label’s designer, Chiara Machiavello, understands the importance of tradition. By working closely with artisans, she has managed to incorporate traditional weaving and embroidery techniques to innovative, edgy and contemporary designs. This relatively new brand, born in the bohemian district of Lima, tries to represent individuality while being heavily influenced by Peruvian identity. Every hand tailored garment tells as a story and as the very name of the label says, it “shields” us or gives us a “coat of armor” to tell our own story through a unique piece.
